PREVIOUS REPORTS

Water amd Wastewater Manager Dave Kent would like the public to know the following:

Just a heads up from the City's Water Department.  We were recently asked from a home owner about an insurance policy offered to them which covers their water service line.  The coverage is probably on the up & up however people should know that here in Oregon they own their water line all the way to the main and not just to their water shut off in their yard.  This is different than most towns.  I called HomeServe and they told me that they only cover from the property line in to the home.  Any strret repairs etc. will be the cost of the homeowner which is the most expensive part.

Sec. 11-85. - Water and sewer rates subject to review.
(a) The city shall review the rates charged for water and sewer services on a yearly basis to ensure that such rates being charged are sufficient to cover costs associated with producing and supplying such services, including any outstanding debt.

(b) Such rates shall be increased by a percentage equal to or greater than the preceding year's rate of inflation of services supplied back to the city's utility as measured by the U.S. Department of Labor Consumer Price Index (CPI). This percentage will be based on SAAR (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) reflective of our regional area, employment compensations, and those services being supplied with their related costs.
