Update September 9, 2008
We now have our water meters back in stock from the factory recall and we will continue to install them this summer.
Jetting of sewer-lines continues and the annual maintenance will be completed soon.
The maintenance building has been prepped for paint and rotted lumber has been repaired. They should complete the finish coat soon.
The semi-annual sludge report has been submitted to the EPA as required, and the beds are now ready for this winters storage.
August 27th the City met with E. D. Etnyre & Co. And it was decided that Etnyre would install a 2” forced wastewater line to the City of Oregon Sanitary sewer at McCanse road and Daysville. The line and system will be owned and maintained by Etnyre and the City will have no responsibility for their line. Etnyre will pay a set fee to be established by the amount of wastewater sent to the City. Whatever the set fee, it is to be increased by the annual CPI and the fee will be investigated and reestablished every four years.
Wood Brothers will discontinue sending industrial wastewater to Oregon because they have improved their methods and cut the volume of industrial wastewater, and now the cost of testing makes it prohibitive.
September 3rd, there was a monitoring device at well #5 that failed and a corroded connection had broken on the 12” water main to the reservoir. The original contractors had tapped treads in the 12” PCV pipe and installed a galvanized pipe for the sending unit. EMC employees made the necessary repair using a saddle, as it should have been installed originally.
