City of Oregon Public Property Update
March 2, 2006
Final plans for the City of Oregon water and sewer line extensions at Daysville and Route 64 are complete. The City will not combine our work with the Ogle County Highway Department but the projects will be coordinated. Bids for the project will be let next week and bid opening three weeks after that. The City project is planned to start June 1st. and the County Highway project will start as soon as we finish our project.
The City project calls for a new 12” water main that will parallel our existing 8” main along Daysville Road to the intersection with Route 64. Property owners who are now not connected to City water along Daysville Road will have an opportunity to connect at considerable savings, and each homeowner will be contacted by mail.
Additional items to be addressed this spring are: a water and sewer line extension on Mix Street from Jackson Street to Illinois Street, a water line extension for the one block of water street with fire plug, maintenance on well #2 at City Hall, repair of the shut off valve on Liberty Hill at the reservoir, and hopefully maintenance of the Liberty Hill Reservoir.
