I started working at City Hall August of 1993 as Deputy Clerk and was then appointed as City Clerk/Treasurer in December of 1998.
The City Clerk/Treasurer serves as your window to the City Council and oversees the daily business at City Hall.
Some of the responsibilities of the City Clerk/Treasurer include:
Attends all Council and Plan Commission meeting and keeps records of the minutes.
Prepares the City’s budget, appropriation, resolutions, ordinances, and tax levy.
In charge of keeping all deeds, bonds, contracts, warrants, vouchers, and any other documents belonging to the City.
Seals and attests all contracts.
Oversees all City risk management, employee benefits, and safety matters.
Prepares monthly water & sewer bills and sends them out, prepares annual liquor licenses and payroll for the employees.
Anyone wishing to get a copy of or view a public document should do so by filing a Freedom of Information Act request, which is available in the City Clerk’s Office.
