Water and Wastewater Plan for 2009

A plan for water and wastewater service to Sinnissippi Centers planned construction on Pines Road.

Construction of a wastewater line North of Oregon along route 2.  This project will be coordinated with the IDOT highway project.

Continue the installation of radio read water meters, as funding is available.

Complete the annual tests and inspection of our drinking water system.

Install a wireless alarm system for all of the city pumps and storage tanks.

Make the necessary modifications to contain storm water for treatment during peak wastewater loading conditions. 

Do the necessary construction for the wastewater plant upgrade.  This is a comprehensive plan to restore our 50-year-old wastewater plant with the latest technology and mechanicals.

Continue smoke testing the City for storm water infiltration and order compliance from various known violators.

Our new management team, MDES will be setting up a complete budget and money management plan.   We will establish actual department expense and will make the necessary changes in rates, which is anticipated to be CPI increases only.

MDES will start documenting City infrastructure to be recorded in GPS software for future reference.
